What Really Matters

Buying a home? The process can be stressful. A home inspection will help give you peace of mind. You will be provided with the necessary information which includes a written report , photographs, and what the inspector  coveys to you  during the inspection if you attend.

Generally the issues discovered during a home inspection will fall into these  major categories:

1. Major defects. An example of this would be a structural failure.

2. Things that lead to major defects. A small roof-flashing leak, for example.

3. Safety hazards, such as an electrical receptacles unprotected by GFCI’s.

Anything in these categories should be addressed. Often a serious problem can be corrected inexpensively to protect both life and property.

Most sellers are honest and are often surprised to learn of defects uncovered during an inspection. The inspection report will allow you and your agent to address these problems with the seller and their agent. Today Real Estate agents are well prepared to resolve these matters so the deal can go through and all parties involved are satisfied.
